Yesterday it rained but today, BLUE SKIES!

QUICK! Outside and bring your gear!

Photobucket

And a quick shot of Piglet's Thanksgiving plate.
Photobucket

Yes. THIS is why we call him Piglet.
Yes. He did have a large slice of pumpkin pie with whipped cream afterward.

And another thing.

I'm just sickened by the new trend of every dr office having a tv in the waiting room. The dentist not only has one in the waiting room but at every chair too.
AND THEY'RE ALL TUNED TO SOME INANE GIBBERING IDIOT WHO JUST GOES ON AND ON ABOUT NOTHING!
Today was Kathy Lee (my, she certainly looks old and fat and saggy now) blah, blah, blahing about such important topics like the dress the wife of the president was wearing. Sure, first black man in office, he's changing history every single day, he's trying to fix this economy, our country is at war, but who cares? What's important and what should be on every American's mind is what the 1st lady is wearing!
Jeeeeeeeesus christ! WHO CARES????

Yes, I get that the office staff is just trying not to offend anyone. You know, The Weather Channel is not offensive. Neither is CNN or ESPN. I'd go crazy if I had to work in an office like that with that stupid stupid chattering noise all day long. Just the short time I'm there, I feel my intelligence sick several levels.

Note to self: ALWAYS bring something to silence the exterior noise from now on, you are no longer allowed to simply sit and vegetate quietly to yourself.
25th-Nov-2009 02:26 pm - Physical today
dragon1
All I got out of this physical is that my blood pressure is 100 over 70, which I already knew because it always is, and was last week at the gyn visit.
Have to go to a lab to get blood work and pee in a cup.
Then schedule yet ANOTHER visit with the doc to go over the results, instead of all this being done in one afternoon and finished.
Sigh.

Sooooo...my blood pressure is fine.

See, it's like one of those books that you choose the ending by picking different things to say. Knowing what's coming, I'm trying to tweak the ending to what I want.
I did end up with a rogue that lived.
I think I'm going to kill off Alister this time. A shame since my character has bedded him. Repeatedly. Oh well. He won't be king this time, if I can help it.
And I can.

It's got a memory leak so every hour or so you have to shut it off and delete some crap locked up running in the background. Typical EA beta testing.
20th-Nov-2009 04:40 pm - Stupid office staff
dragon1
So, after my gyn visit, she told me that I needed an ultrasound RIGHT after I finished my period and to call when it started to make an appt.

So I call today. The best they can do is the 10th of December.
2 weeks after. Ya know, where I was when I went in the first time and she said it was too late.

I told them nevermind. Fuck it.
19th-Nov-2009 04:36 pm - Well, he was offered a job
dragon1
Sorta
Contract job (no benefits).
Making less (10 bucks an hour less).
At Disney (45 minutes away and if you think EA is a sweatshop, you ain't seen how Disney treats their employees, much less their contractors).

He told the headhunter that maybe by February, if nothing else exists and the job is still available...
but he has lunch with a headhunter next week. At least he's getting free lunches.
19th-Nov-2009 09:19 am - That was a very expensive dream
dragon1
I just remembered that I had a dream this morning that I was in someone's house. This person knew I didn't drink so fixed me this large glass of something alcoholic and left for work. I was really thirsty so chugged it all. It had that nasty alcohol flavor but not sickly sweet and had bubbles like a carbonated drink so I thought it wasn't that bad. Maybe I should have some more. I didn't look at the bottle and poured another large glass full, then, like I do, sort of ignored it all day, like I do all drinks. Hours later, I ended up wanting to know what was in cup so I went to fridge and looked at the bottle.
Dom Perignon champagne.
Oh shit. That's expensive. Oh shit! I just used half the bottle! Oh shit! I stood there and thought about it then did indeed, poor the flat champagne back into the bottle! LOL

In real life, I have no idea how much champagne costs so I looked it up. Looks like between 134 and over a 1000 bucks a bottle!

I have no idea of the implications of this dream, and I have no idea if that's what champagne tastes like or how I knew just how dreadfully expensive one silly bottle of beverage actually is, but look, don't be pouring me a big glass of something that dear. I might think I can have seconds.
I don't get paying that much for a drink anyway. Even if the actual flavor just knocked your socks off, you can't enjoy the whole bottle for yourself or you'll just be drunk. It'll go flat if you try to save it for a few days. If you share it with other people, you sure won't get your share considering what you paid. Hell, a vat of beverage isn't worth 1000.00 bucks. Water is mostly free and doesn't have that dreadful alcohol flavor to it.
19th-Nov-2009 09:02 am - It's better to give?
dragon1
This time of year, everyone has their hand out and someone just spouted that old cliche about being better to give than to receive.

Yeah, you know why?
Because most people are assholes and good luck getting anything. Hence the whole encouragement to give because if it's pounded into enough heads, perhaps you WILL actually get something once or twice a lifetime. Be honest, when you were a kid and if you actually got a dream gift, was it better to give than to receive? Hell no!
When you spend a long time thinking about the ideal gift for someone, then move heaven and earth to find it, especially if you have to juggle a job to get free time, then you wrap it just so and hide it until Xmas, does the recipient EVER understand the effort you took? They unwrap it and you're lucky if you get thanked. Better to give? I don't think so.

Oh wait, it's only the poor and religious who spout this, and they don't want stuff, they want cash. I see. It's better to give cash to the unworthy than to have anything for yourself. Now I get it.

Yeah, pull your hand back before you end up with a bloody stump. I don't give anything to beggars. Ain't no one EVER lifted a finger to help me and I'm just returning the favor now that I'm grown and have power over my life.

"A drug has been found to cut the risk of heart attacks by almost half in 'healthy' people, researchers say today."

But...but healthy people don't have heart attacks. Hey, I hear grapes cut the risk of prostate cancer in women to 0.
